Received Bundav, i p.m. LONDON, August 20. ' ' The game of twisting the lion's tail is a riskv oue and may recoil 011 those who indulge in the pastime," said the War Minister, Mr. Shinwell, when speaking at Aspatria, Oumberland. ' ' Some of our overseas critics forget that Britain was and still remains tlieir * prineipal market. We purchase far more from them than they ever did from ns. Now when we have almost exh anated ourselves in six years of war and find ourselves in a'grave econonvic position, our magniflcent efforts in ihe past are overlooked. Tt is bad enough when overseas critics attack ns but it is notliing short of treachery when critics aj home, from political motives, seek to disparage this country. "The suggestiori that Britain is plaved out is sheer nonsense. Since the end of the war onr productive capacitv has increased far beyond anvbody's expectations. It is time sneering references at home and overseas to Britain 's decline, was stopned and dne recognition given to tliis eoimtrv 's part in world afTairs. ' '
