J/Estallj the adjudicator ab the 'Manawatu and Districts' Brass Bands3 Association's contest at Masterton yesterday. This . was a pity because he thought that youiager bands should be given'an opportunity to gain awards. ' . Mr. Estall ..commended all the bands on their perform'aiiee, but said they lacked eXpression in their. playing. A very creditable performance was giVen by the Levin Baiid in taking secorrd place to Masterton Monicipal Silver Band.
