Levin To Hear Fine Male Voice Choir
The visit of the Palmerston North Orpheus Society 's male voice choir to Levin next Wednesday will bring citizens of Levin entertainment of a type which is all too rare. With Mr. J. Bewley as conductor, this outstanding combination of 24 voices, assisted by talented artistes, will present a concert in the- Horowhenua College Hall, the entire proceeds of which wiU go towards -the fund «to provide the Levin Scout Group with a hall a't Playford Park. . . Items for the first half of the programme are: — Bracket by the choir, "Rolling Down to Rio," "Catastrophe" and "Song of the Bow"; song, Miss A. Wilson; Aute solo, Mr. A. Huse; song, Mr. A. Nielsen; recitation, Miss M. Niven; bracket by the choir, "Road to Mandalay," "The Frog" and "Fantasia on English Melodies." The second half of the. programme will open with a bracket by the choir comprising "Border Ballad," "Simon at the' Fair" and "In a Persian Market." Songs will be given. by Miss Wilson and Mr. Nielsen," a Aute solo by Mr. Huse and - a. recitation by Mr. Bewley. The concluding item will be a-fur-ther bracket by the choir, "Creation's,,- Hymn," "Holy Night" and "CoKlrades in Arms." , "Homecoming" stars Clark Gable, Lana Turner, Anne Baxter and John Hodiak, with Ray Collins, Gladys Cooper and Cameron Mitchell in support.
