Methodist Church Has Its Anniversary
During the past ten days the Foxton Methodist Church has been ce'ebratin'g the 75th anniversary of Methodism in the Manawatu, Foxton in particular, the 73rd. an-' niversary of the original Methodist Church' in Foxton and the. 36th anniversary of the present church in Avenue Road. Special services have characterised the celebration and opportunity was taken last week to open and re-dedicate the renovated schoolroom. Celebrations . reached a peak on Saturday evening when an old-time tea meeting and reunion was held in the Town Hall supper-room: On Tuesday evenT ing festivities conclu'ded with a grand concert in the Town- Hall,. quite a number from Shannon' being present for this last function, many of, whom travelled in a specially arranged bus.
