Seriously Injured When Car Hits Tree

When a car left the road and crahhed head on into a niacrocarpa tree on the Kai Twi beach road, near Wanganui, late last night, Desmond John PurcelL of 174 Church Rtreet, Palmerston. North, whose parents reBide in Wellington, suffered severe head injuriep and is now in the Wanganui Hospital in a serious eondition. Peggy Ybung, of Bulls, suffered injuries to the right shoulder and ~is also in hospital, colidition satisfactory, while Pdtrick John Ctinneeh, of Palmerston North, snstained abrasions to face and hand. A fonrth passenger, Olive Young, was uninjured. The party was in a rental car and after passing through water On the road, missed a tura to crash into the tree. The c&r was badly damaged.
