Motion Picture Of School Patrol At Otaki

An important event was recorded at the Otaki State School on Mon'day last when Mr. Shaw, of Levin, in conjunction with the Wellington Automobile ^ Association's patrol officer, took a silent film of the recently instituted school patrol. All the routine procedure was filmed, commencing with the fall in of the patrol, and then sho'wing the control of children, control of cyclists and control of traffic passing up and down Mill Road. The objective is the screening of the film in v various • schools throughout the Wellington Education Board's distriet to assist tlie Automobile Association's "safety first" campaign. The efflciency of the patrol, which was oniy formed in midJu!y, has already made a very favourable impression, and the headmaster, Mr. .O. H. E. Yates, and members of the patrol are to be commended on the standard achieved'.
