Received Friday, 9.40 a.m. STOCKHOLM, Aug. 11. A period of continued relaxation in world tension was forecast by the SecretaryGeneral of the United Nations Organisation, Mr. Trygve Lie, in a speech tonight. According to an Associated Press report, he .said: "Tt is my impression that responsible statesmen all over the world are firmly resolved to prevent war, and that they will go a very long way to preserve the peace. "I think that the relaxation of international tension which has been obs'erved during the last few months will continue." Mr. Lie said that fortunately there had never been any sign of intention on the part of a country to leave the United Nations. Withoiit the participation of all the big powers the United Nations would be extinguished as an instrument ^ of peace and the world would be heading towards another war. ,
