New Trouble On East Coast Railway
GISBORNE Aug. 12. Railway engineefs and clearing gangs faced fresh trouble on the blocked line between Raupunga and Waikoau this morning, when it was found that a .culvert had been washed out overnight at the latter pace, thus ending hopes of resuming traffic between Napier and Wairoa today. During the night a new slip occurred half a mile south of the Raupunga blockage and the Waikoau culvert washed out will require reconstruction. The work train which left Wairoa on Monday is lsolated between the two slips.
