Mr. J. James spent the day iil Shannon renewing acquaintances. Mr. and Mrs. W. Vincent have returned to Hamilton after a short stay with Mrs. Saunders, Thomson Street, Shannon. Mr. and Mrs. De Silva, Java, were the weekend' guests of Mr. aiid Mrs. E. Spring, Nathan Terrace, Shannon. Mr. and Mrs. J. Currie, of Thames, are at present the guests of Mrs. C. B. Gunning, Bryce Street, Shannon. The friends of Mr. and Mrs. V. J.' Bateman will regret to learn that their eldest daughter, Susan, is at presoht in the Palmerston North Public Hospital. *
