Scouts Hold Investiture
The first Otaki Boy Scout Group Committee and parents assembled at the scout training hall on Tuesday night, when an investiture was held. Four cubs were promoted to the scout troop, Rover Scout Leader C. Lethbridge -reading the" ritual and conducting the ceremony. The sister branch of the scout movement, the girl guides, were also represented. Parents evinced keen interest in the many activities covered, and complimentary reference to the manner in which both scouts and cubs carried out their duties were made. Mr. F. Rule, president of the committee, thanked parents for the inLerest disp]ayed, considering the attendance very gratifying. He also expressed the pleasure of members in seeing the guides present. Mr. Rule made complimentary reference to the progress the lads had jmade under their new leader, and I hoped that the reported early deIparture of Scoucer Lethbridge would not eventuate. He also thanked Cubmistress L. Henwood, District Commissioner L. Moss and Assistant Scoutmaster A. Walters for their help and co-operation. Prior to dispersing supper wa's served and enjoyed.
