Expenses Of Touring Rugby Fifteens

That there had been a little bit of heartburning over the expenses for entertainment allowed the senior B team during its Palmerston North visit was mentioned at a meeting of the Horowhenua Rugby Union on Tues'day night. The see- ' retary, Mr. J. E. Fullarton, said he had given the wrong envelope to Mr. D. J. Oliver, the manager of the team, and Mr. Oliver,- realising the mistake, had spent only the amount allowed for the match althoughthe envelope contained £5. Mi. Oliver said that he had unfortunateiy opened the envelope in the piTssence of' the players, and many had been disappointed that he had not spent it all on their entertainment. Mr. Oliver adde'd that there was apparently a feeling that the union should spend more money on this side of the visits. The president, ■ Mr. R. L. Robinson, said he thought that the union was allowing a reasonable sum for the expenses of the teams in this regard.
