High Class Play In B Grade Badminton
Some high class badminton was seen when Manakau met Coiiege Old Pupils in the Horowhenua As^ociation's B grade ccmpetition. P. Leen p.ayed well to beat N. Sci scia in the men's sing-es. Miss D. Johnscn, for Coilege, impressed and with a little more experience will be a hard player to beat. Manakau won by 10 games to six. Detailed results were as follows, Manakau players being mentioned first in each instance: — • Men's singles: P. Leen beat N. Sciascia, 21-6; A. Haz itt lost to R. Robinson, 9-21; G. Lander beat M. Winiata, 21-15; K. Harry beat G. Sciascia, 21-11. Ladies' singles: Mrs. J. Bryant lost to Miss D. Benning, 1-15 ; Miss N. Staples beat Miss J. Perigo, 15-3; Mrs. P. Moretto lost to Miss D.
