RESIGNATIONS ACCEPTED.
WELLINGTON, August 9. The national secretary of the Labour Party, Mr. A. J. McDonald, after a meeting oi the national exeeutive of the Party today, said the resignation oi Mr. Erank JLangstone, M.P. for Roskill, as a member of the Labour Party, hao been accepted as had the withdrawal oi Mr. 11. G. Ivilpatrick who had been selected as Laoour candidate i'or Hurunui. Consideration of the selection oi candidates for botli Hurunui and Roskill would be decided at an eariy date. Mr. McDonald announced the selection of a further eight candidates for ?the- General Electioji, bringing the 'Labour Party 's selected candidates to 60. The eight comprise Mr. J. L. Keenan, chosen to contest Clutha now held by the National Party, and the following seven sitting Labour members who will again contest the seats they now liold: — Waitakere, Hon. H. G. R. Mason; Onslow, Mr. H. E. L'ombs, Archhill, Hon. W. E. Parryj Aucklana Central, Mr. W. T. -Anderton; Grey Lynn, Hon. F. Hackett; Ponsonby, Mr. Ritchie Macdonald; Mt. Albert, Mr. W. W. Freer.
