WANT MILITARY AID FOR CHINA

Received Tuesdav, 8.10 p.m. WASHIXGTOX, August 8. A Bill autfyorising 200,000,000 dollars military aid for China, was introduced in the House by Representatives John Davis Lodge (Republiean — Connecticut) and Franeis Walter (Democrat — Pennsylvania). Lodge told the House that if 110 action was taken on it, he would offer it as an amendment to the foreign arms aid programme. "I am introducing this proposal now in order to call attention to the problem in order to diminish the lielp and comfort to the Chinese Communists which the White Paper has brought and in order to encourage our Chinese allies and friends in the terrible battle they are waging, This measure indieates our intention to proceed according to tested methods which proved suecessful in the Greek civil war. It expresses our conviction that we cannot protect American nat.ional security bv hunting with the hounds in Greece and runninc with the hare in China."
