CHRISTCHURCH, August 8. When Alan Robert Taylor, aged 22, barman-porter, appealing on grounds of undue severity against a sentenee imposed in Ihe Magistrate's Court oi' three months' imprisonment for the theft of a bicycle, said in the Suprem Court this morning that there was not inuch he could sav in support, Mr Jus tice Northcroft, emphatically agreed with him. His Honour asked Mr A. W. Brown to draw the authorities' attention t the state of the law in respect of ap peals against Magistratcs' sentences.
