Otaki Institute Meets
The monthly meeting of the Otaki Women's Institute saw the customary pleasing number of members in attendance. The president, Mrs. J. Ross, extended a welcome to ail, with a special welcome i to new members in Mrs. P. Adamson and Misses J. Cooper, Everson land N. Bertlesen. \ The go'den thread reading from General Kippenberger was given by Mrs. W. Taylor, and arrangements for an afternpon card party and a bus to Milson for the institute birthday party were made. It was decided that a flower show and arvs and crafts exhibition, combined with a social afternoon and evening, be held in October. Jltems were contributed dming the | afternoon by Miss J. Morgan and the singing circle. Miss Morgan, and the accompanist, Mrs. H. Tews, were presented with flowers. Competition winners were as follows: — Best flower: Mrs. J. Mudge 1, Mrs. H. T. Mould 2. Best shjrub: Mrs. Mould 1, Mrs. Mudge 2. Article to the value of 2s: Mrs. W. Mathie 1, Mesdames J. Rosoman an'd K. Spiers (equai) 2. Marmalade: Mrs. G. M. Kirk 1, Mrs. S. Brooks 2. Hostesses for the next meeting wi 1 be Mesdames C. and M. Williams, C. Wilkes, G. White, A. E. Wallington'and L. Walsh.
