AUCKLAND, August 4. Tlie suggestecl railway route to bridge tlie gap between the raillieads at Motuhera, 49 miles from Gisborne, and Taneatua, in tlie Bay of .Plenty, will be inspeeted on Sunday by Bailways and Public Works officials and members of tlie Ajickland and Gisborne Cliambers of Commerce. The proposed route euts inland about two miles north of Matawai an> runs parallel to the Matawai-Opotiki highway in a valley to Te Wera. From there it follows the Koranga Stream, goes into the Waioeka Valley and then to Opotiki. Supporters claim it will avoid all the precipitous country.The Auckland Chamber of Commerce council today congratulated the Gisborne Chamber of Commerce for the way in which it had overcome the diffi eulties connecte^ with the survey.
