Memorable Arbor Day At School

— ■■■■ No less than 50 native shrubs were planted at the Otaki State School on Arbor Day. A large bed had been prepared inside.the road fence under the supervision of Mr. W. H. Townrow, and througnout the day pupils of all classes were in "turn given an insight into, and assisted with the planting. Later in the day the Aberdonian scholar, Ian Rettier, with the Mayor, Mr. C. F. Atmore, assisting, made the day memorable by planting an oak. Mr. O. H. E. Yates, headmaster, expressed the wish that future Otaki Shield winners would have 1 their photographs taken under this !tree when visiting the school. I
