U.S. Chiefs Meeting Western Union Heads

Received Wed., 10.25 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 2. The American joint Chiefs of Staff will meet the British. Chiefs of Staff, Admiral of the Fleet Lord Fraser, Field Marshal Sir William Slim and Marshal of the Royal Air Force Lord Tedder, tomorrow. On Thursday they will meet . the Danish Chiefs of Staff and later the Norwegians before flying to Paris. • In Paris they will have talks on Friday with Field Marshal Montgomery and the military leaders of Franee, Belgium and Holland. The United States Army Chief of Staff, General Omar Bradley, said in an interview ' in Grafenwohr today that ifc was to be expected that all members of the Western , Union would function within 1 the Atlantic Pact, of which they were members, but it still had to be decided whether the | Atlantic Pact would supersede j the Western Union. The Pact would be functioning oue year after all the signatories had ratified it. The American joint Chiefs of Staff declared that American troops in Germany were ready for any emergency. They disclosed that jet fighters will replac-e all standard type planes in Germany.
