Police Extend Their Radio Network

WELLINGTON, August 2. • Tke efficiency of the Wellington police patrol system has been steppea Up to such a degree that it is now pos Bible to seal off all outlets and ap pi'oaches to the city within two or three minutes. This state of affairs has heen brought about by the recent installation of the three-way radio system between patrol cars and the Central police station. Since these radios were first used aisout three weeks ago, at least two good "catches" have heen inade by the police. Without the assistance oi the new system, the offenders in both instances might have escaped detection. The cars equipped with the new three-way radio, can communicate with the Central station as well as receive messages and can also contact other cars out on patrol.
