Cycling Officials Appointed For Empire Games
WELLINGTON, August 1. The Council of the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association has appointed the following officials to control the cycling seetion of the British Empire Games at Auckland in 1950:— Manager, Mr. A. W. Gooder (Auckland) ; assistant manager, Mr. J. Wilson (Wellington)'; secretary, Mr. I. M. Plimmer (Wellington); referee, Mr. R. Linn (Auckland); recording steward, Mr. L. Wilson (Auckland). The president of the association (Mr. P. N. Robinson) said today tliat, nominations for the remaining official positions would close on August 15. The Auckland 'City Council had given permission for the road triai and the New Zealand championship event to be conducted on the Parnell course and this is to take place on November 23 and 26.
