Sunspots Present Radio Problem

WELLINGTON, Aug. 1. The recently noted group of sun spots has aft'ected the radio telephone eircuit between Now Zealand and Lon don. Distortion in the last few 'days has made the eircuit a problem. An engineer at the General Post Office, Wellington, said, today that trouble had been expected also ou the Sydney and San Francisco circuits but there had been few interferences in those. The effects of sunspots are, the ngineer explained, unpredicable. Sometimes large sunspots had been observed but there had been no trouble. There was no indication that the worst of the ionosplieric disturbance had passed or reached its peak in the latest episode.
