Attendances Lianited. Attendances at functions in the Regent Hall will in future be limited to 425. The sale is subject to an inspection of the ship this week by technical officers of the Anchor Shipping Company. These officers left Auckland today. The approval of the United States Maritime Comiiiission is also necessary. The Hualalai was withdrawn from the Hawaiian Islands trade because of air competition. if purchased, she will be by far the largest ship to enter the Welling-ton-Nelson trade.

Tyres And Bicycle Costs. The additional cost on hicycles which users now pay, consequent on instructions by the State that all imported cycles must be fitted with New Zealand-made tyres and tubes, is 13s 7d, according to a statement issued by the Bureau of Importers, Auckland. The statement adds that the previous landed cost of a well-known English cycle supplied complete with tyres and tubes, and assembled locally, was 207s 9d. The new landed cost of the cycle, but fitted with New Zealandmade tyres and tubes,- and assembled in New Zealand, is 221s 4d or an extra cost of 13s 7d.
