" (Chroniele" Correspondentl The Paraparaumu Beach Bowling Club held its ainnual meeting recently, when offlcers elected for the coming season were as follows: — President, Mr. E. A. A. Thorne; vice-president, Mr. W. White-Scott; secretary, Mr. A. J. Petherick; committee, Messrs. W. I. J. Blyth, T. K. Henderson, T. Ricketts, N. Skeet, S. M. Stone, and H. Walton; match committee, Messrs. S. G. Batten, N. Skeet and J. Young; sole selector, Mr. Stone; auditor, Mr. A. T. White; delegate to - Wellington Bowling Association, Mr. Thorne; delegates to Umpires Association, Messrs. B. Ginger, T. Ricketts and J. Young. National Party Social. A very pleasant social evening, held under the auspices of the Paraparaumu Branc'h of the National Party, took place recently. , A most interesting and inspiring address, given by Mr. D. O. Whyte, chairman of the Wellington Division, was intently listened to by the many present. Mr. C. M. Bowden, M.P., also gave a short address, and items were contributed by Mrs. B. T. Cass and Messrs. E. Graham and A. H. Wakelin. The screening of a film ad'ded to the variety of the evening, and 'the meeting concluded with refreshments and social conver.se. New Plunket Sub-Braneh. A new sub-bra,nch of the Plunket Society, to be known as the Kapiti sub-branc'h, has been formed following a meeting held at the Majestic Hotel. Mrs. Wightwick was in the chair and was ably supported toy Mrs. G. A. Monk, president of the COastal Towns toranch. The election of offi'cers resulted as follows: — President: Mrs. Wallis; secretar'y-treasurer: Mrs. Cuff; hon. auditor: Mr. A. Simpson; active vice-presidents : Mesdames Darke and Masters; committee: Mesdames Mauger, Leask, Higgins, Neill, Stapp, Lavers, Groves, Thorburn, Taylor, S. Cornor and T. Cornor; delegates to monthly meetings of Coastal Towns toranch: Mesdames Wallis and Darke.
