WELLINGTON, July 29. A bombshell was expl'oded at the last business of the annuai Dominioji, Oonference "of Federated Farmers today when Mr A. G. Wood (Auckland) in level tones moved a resolution that "the pakeha seek Yquality with tlie Maori." The conterence was momentarily puzzled and then- highly amused. ''I do not introduee this in a spirit of levity," Mr Wood cautioned. "Too long have we suffered by the- fact that we have become a second race to the Maori people." '* ' Several delegates rose to second the, motion and there were no niore tha'n two or ' three ' 1 noes ' ' when the vo'te was taken.
