The following remits relating to political and cconomic matters were passed at the fourth Dominion conference of FederafeiT Farmers of New Zealand today: That this conference is of opinion that the present methods of control of inflation are inadequate and ineffeetive. That all memliers of local bodies be elected by local bodv f ranchise. That in all proposed legislation on matters vitall.v affecting the farming community Federated Farmers be first consulted. That this conference fully supports the GoA'ernment in its efforts to eombat subversiA'e elements in the country. Owing to the ab norma! increase in murder and assault crimes this conference urges that eapital and corporal punishment be reinstated immediately. That a strongly Avorded letter be forwar'ded from the Federation to the Minister of Justice stressing the necessity for the whole position relative to 1 eriminal sentences being reviewed.
