("Chronicle" Correspondent)The many friends of Mr. J. D. Brown will regret to learn that he is seriously ill. Mrs. Ford is a patient in the Silverstream Hospital. f Mr. and Mrs. Swanson, well known on the bowling green. have left on a yisit to South Africa for big game hun'ting. Mr. Thorne, president of the Paraparaumu Bowling Club, has left on a business trip to England. Mrs. Tankersley is visiting- her father, Mr. H. Davidson, Bluegum Road. Mr. J. Eggers is at present a patient in the Wellington Hospital. mstitute Meets. The Paraparaumu Women's Institute held its July meeting in the Anglican Hall recently, presided over by Mrs. N. Hornsby. A gioom was cast over the proceedings following tne death 'the previous day of the president, Mrs. M. Eggers. The minutes were read and then Mr. M. Nixon gave an interesting address on adu.t education, ju&rgely Attended Funeral. The funeral of the late Mrs. M. Eggers was largely attended. The service was conducted by Rev. Father McGra'th, of Otaki. There were many beautiful wreaths from far and wide, Mrs. Eggers being a popular and highiy-respected member of the community. She was president of the Paraparaumu Women's Institute, secretary of the Beautifying Society, a member of the South Wellington Federation of Women's Institutes and a member of the Red Cross Society. Aiways a very willing worker and of cheerful disposition, Mrs. Eggers will be greatly missed by all and much sympathy is felt for her husband and daughter in 'their great loss.
