CHRISTCHURCH, July 20. Bernadette Canty, of St. Catherine's College, Invercargill, won the Dominion oratory contest sponsored by the Overseas League. The 10 finalists chosen in the area competitions throughout Xew Zealand, competed in Christchurch this evening. The winner will hold the Anthonv Eden Cup and receive a fortnight's holidav in Australia. Morgan Faliey, of the Christian Brothers High School, Dunedin, was placed second and Anne Henson, of the Feilding Agricultural High School, third. They eaeh win a weelr's holiday at-Mt. Cooic. "Empire Unity" was the Subject and Dr. H. R. Huime, rector of the Canterbury University College, and Mr. E. P. Wills, a Christchurch barrister, were the judges.
