DELAYS AT WELLINGTON

WELLINGTON,' July 18. Because of the watersiders' stopwork meeting this al'ternoon and their refusal to work overtime to-night, nu ships left Wellington to-day except the inter- island steamers Hinemoa and Taliiahine. In all six overseas and 14 coas tal vessels were alfected by the redue tion in working time. The Breeze, Lcho, Wairau, Marlyn, Wakanui, Holmdale and Wingatui which were selieduled to sail to-day, liave been set down to leave 1 0-111 orrow. The stopping of night work on the wharves is lilrely to alfect the smaller coastal vessels more seriously than others as they depend on extra hours work- • ed at night to complete unloading and loading within a day.
