Presbyterian Church Scene Of Pretty Wedding
The Presbyterian Church, "Shannon, was the scene of a very pretty wedding. when the marriage was solemnised of Aldyth Merva, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Ped'ersen, tp Allen Thomas, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Bell. " The church was decorated for . the occasioh by the bridesmaids. The' Rev.- J. Mar-? tin officiated "witl\_ Mr. Stewart Alexander at the organ. The bride made a charming pictur.e as she entered the church escorted by her father. Her bridal. gown was of cream" slipper satin made with~a heart-shaped neckline .and long sleeves pointed over the fingers. Her full skirt was- gathered from the waistlme and* fell to form a soft train. Her cream veil was held in place by three orchids and fell to form a second train. She carried a bouquet of lilies, rosebuds, orchids and maidenhair fern. She also wore a gold wristlet watch, the gift of the bridegroom. The bride was attended by her sister, Leone, as chief bridesmaid, and Miss Doreen Ritchie. They were frocked alike in pale blue slipper satin cut on the same lines as that of the bride, their shoulder length veils being held in place by net halos the same shade as their gowns. Thev carried bouquets of cyclamen lilies, rose buds and fern. Allen Jameson nephew of thq bride, made an'attractive page boy in his black satin trousers and cream satin blouse with black bow tie. The gowns of the bride and her maids were hiade by Mrs. E. Nichol, an old friend'of the family. The bridegro'om's attendants were Mr..Doug. Pedersen, brother of the bride, as best man, and his brother, Mr. Jack Bell, as groomsman. At the reception held in the Parish Hall, over 100 guests were received by the parents of the bride and bridegroom. Mrs. S. Pedersen wore a tan frock with gold trimmings. A tan hat, purse and gloves and a shoulder. spray of autumn shaded roses and fern completed her accessories. rMs. T. Bell wore a green suit with tan accessories and a shoulder spray of autumn, shaded roses and fern. -- Pride of. place on the bridal table 3vas given to the- beautifully- decoL rated wedding cake. Among the many beautiful gifts received ; by the young couple was one from the bride's penfriend in America. When leaving on their honeymoon, the bride chose. a fawn suit with wine accessories. The future home of Mr. and Mrs. Bell will be in. Palmerston North.
