No longer do the lights in the office of the -Minister of Finance, Mr. Nash, burn into thg early hours of the morning. Bu.t his stafl is not naving a holiday . Mr. Nash took a whole bundle of his inevitable, flies ■with him when he left for Lon'don. The first signs of his activity was a pile nearly a foot high which came back frbm Sydney., Laying Down The Red Carpet. No longer do members of Parliar ment stalk majestically into the chamber of the House of Representatives on a threadbare carpet and their footsteps are suitably rriuffled as they go about their-1 business arpund the m^,ze of corridors , in Parliament Buildings. Before the start of last session over 400 square yards of new carpet from England were used in recarpeting the chamber. Now it is the turn of the threequarters of a mile of six feet wide carpet around "the corridors. In the last few months, nearly 450 yards of new carpet have been laid around the corridors.
