Not long before the safe was broken open, it contained something like £250. On Wednesday night one of the principals of the firtu was in town and he called at the shop and deeided to make up the cash for the bank. Instead of putting this money back in the safe, he hid it with the bank bcok behind a bolt of material in the shop. This morning the safe was found blown open. The door had been so badly damaged that the safe will have to be replaced. About £39 in change which had been put back in the safe the night before, was missing.
