Successful Greyhound Race Meeting Expected
Excellent entries having been received, the officials of the OtakiRahui Greyhound Racing Club are Looking forward with some confidence to the club's opening meeting at the weekend. •Successfui trials were held on the course on Saturday last, when officials of the National Coursing Association inspected and sanctioned the use of the course. Six events Were run. Lucky Helen and Master Luna were placed first and second in the first hurdle race, and Typhoon and Lady Mariner first and second in the second hurdle race. The saplings, for pups from nine to 12 months, saw Legal a comfortable winner from Hobo Joe and Lady Nahleen. Lucky Helen had a runaway win on the flat from Lady Foxbridge, with Biack Pool Sam'a close third. Typhoon won the third hurdle race easily from Tracer, while Lady Foxbridge won the last event from Lady Myrtle, with Lady Nahleen third. In the saplings event at the forthcoming meeting a record has been made already inasrpuch as the three entries are triplets, all members of one family. At a meeting of the club on Tues-
i^y president advised that entries numericaliy were equal to any championship meeting. At the Hutt Valley races held repently Otaki's good open hurdle dog, Master Luna, was narrowly beaten by Colombine, and Lucky Helen returned a good performance for a hurdler in finishing third in a flat event.- -
