No Change In Rating Of Horowhenua County
♦ , The general rate for the Horp--whenua County Council remains unchqnged at 1.41/64d. in the £. All other rates are unchanged with the exceptibn of that for the Manawatu Catchment Board, which is reduced slightly - from W10d. in the £ • to l/12d. in the £.* The hospital rate remains at %d in the £. It was decided: that- the five per cent. rebate on' the general rate be pontinued this year for. rates paid before the expiration of. 30 days after th'e due date, September 1. The l'O per cent. penalty- will still apply on rates unpaid after six months and 14 days. - . In his annual report, the treasurer,; Mr, F. H. IJudson, commented that the granting of . the five per cent. rebate resulted in " 55.6 per cent. of 'the total rate levied being collected within the allowable period, as against 19.5 per cent. for the same period of the previous year. .
