FARMERS RUSH NEW FOOD FOR WINTERING COWS

Dairy farmers all oyer the North Island have not lost much time in realising -the value of Mother Liquor Tritrate for spreadihg on hay— f or the low protein content of most hay (which is not made good by molasses) is probably a prime reason for the winter malnutrition of cows. And this factor has some of its worst effects in grass staggers and milk fever when the flush of spring arrives. At 33s per 44 gallon drum, Mother Liquor Tritrate is of course easily the -cheapest stock food, obtainable — gvgh including the 15s 6d drum charge which must be added. And when it is realised that this new product contains the starch equivalent of a hundredweight of barley meal, plus the protein of a hundredweight of meat-meal in every drum; it will be seen clearly just why Mother Liquor Tritrate is being ordered fast, and m large quanti'ties. In addition to providing the cheapest and most palatable of all supplementary foods for wintering cows (indeed, for all stock) , Mother Liquor Tritrate . has an . extremely * ~ high Vitamin B and mineral content: each drum contains the equivalent, in these factors, of over a ton of barley. Small wonder that those farmers who were lucky enough to secure stocks last winter are layiiig in supplies now. Seven to eight drums per month provide a 2 lb. daily ration for 50 cows.
