Received Sunday 7 p.m. OTTAWA, July 2. The long, bloody and bitter strike of asbestos miners at Asbestos (Quebec), ended last night in a eompromise agreement nehotiated by the Roman Cath olic Archbiship of Quebec, MauriciRoy, who acted on behalf of the Caii adian Catholic Confederation of Labour to which the asbestos mihers be long. Undet the terms of the agreement the miners are Lo get a wage increase of ten cents hourly instead of the 15 cents they demanded. . . The strike crippled the production of asbestos in southeastern Quebec where'' more than 80 per cent of the wdrld 's asbestos is mined.
