Tasman Beach Institute's Monthly Meeting

The June meeting of the Tasman Beach -was held recently in the Anglican Beach Hall, when the presiderit, Mrs. J. H. McConvire, "wblcomed all who attended, with special mention of two new members, Mes'dames R. Hamilton and J. Richards. There were . several apologieg^an -behalf of some * who were unable to attend. It was agreed that a donation he forwarded to the headquarters' buPding fund. Mrs. A. M. Hawkins gave a detailed report on a parcel she hgxl , packed' and posted to the Ki'ddermihster institute in England. -Mrs. H. Tews rendered pleasing pianforte items, after which Mrs. Hawkins gave a recitation, both receiving beautiful little baskets of fiowers, the artistic work of Mrs. R. Duncan. Afternoon tea was served and enjoyed, hostesses being Mesdames L. Kirker and T. McClelland. A very interesting demonstration on soft toy making by Mrs. R. Duncan foUowed. This was very closely followed by members and the. realistic display of toys made by the demonstrator was a wonderful tribute to her ability. Mrs. P. Evans and Miss P. Fogden entertained with a humorous sketch, which was received with hiuch laughter. A vote of thanks to the entertainers and the demonstrator was carried by acclamation. Competition winners were Mesdames Tews and E. Doyle.
