Bill To Prevent Union Ballot Rigging
CAXBERRA, June 20. The proper conduct of union elections must be reeognised as important, stated Dr. Evatt to-day when he introduced into the IJouse of Representatives a Bill amending the Arbitration Act to provide a £100 fftie and 12 months' imprisonment for ' ' intimidation and mai practiee" in trade union elections. Primarily designed as a safeguard against ballot rigging, the Bill also has provision for secret union ballots.
