"When returned to power- the National Party. will estahlish an inde- 1 pendent currericy hoard and charge it with the duty of maintaining astahle price level," declared Mr. T. C. Wehh (Rodney) when speaking in the House of Representatives yesterday. "The National Party will delete from the Finance Act that portion which states that the function of the Reserve Bank is to carry out the financial poliey of the Government as communicated from timi to time hy the Minister of Finance. The National Party will put it out of the power of any Minister of Finance to monkey around with the currency of the eountry and increase the inflationary tendency."
