WELLINGTON, 3"une .30. . The death of Mr. Walter Tanner Ikin, aged 68, former general manager for New Zealand of the Australian Mutual Provident Society/ occurred suddenly last evening. After occupying various prominent executive positions in Australia, Mr. Ikin was appointed manager for the A.M.P.-in New Zealand in 1934 and-oontinued in thyt office .tmtil he retired in 1947. He had 50 years of service with the society: He was a J.P.. chairman of ' the Life Offices Association of New Zealand for many years and was an ex-president of the New Zealand Insurance Institute. Mr. Ikin, who was born in Vfctoria, Australia, is s'urvived by- a Wife, son and four married daughters. *.
