Received Monday, 10.10 a.m. SHANGHAI, JUne 26. The Communist Governhient in Shanghai today abobshed hoy scout organisations, military training, -"reactionary'' textb'ooks and the teaching of classical literature. The official order established a new "gui'dance Department" to replace the Kuomintang's Proctor system. New textbooks in history and geography in the Chinese language, conforming to the princip'es of the "new democracy" will be printed because the old textbooks were written from a "mistaken viewpoint." Primary children's corps will be formed, charged with "learning new knowledge and Communist theiries, policies and propaganda, and recreation, publications and school po'icies." . All schools will be required to register by June 30, but private schools will be permiteed to exist as long as they "did not vioiate the princip'es of the new democracy."
