First District Competition Matches Fired
The Horowhenua Miniaiure Rifle Association's '•inter-club competition began recently and interest will be added this year by the affiliation of the Otaki club. ln the first matches Shannon defauited to Ohau, thereby g'iving the latter an eight-point win, while Poroutawhao scored an eight-point win over Levin. The second series saw Levin and Ohau share the honours, Levin winning the B and D grades and Ohau the A and C grades. Poroutawhao were successful in all grades against Otaki. The competition points held by the various clufcs in the four grades are now as follows: — A grade: Ohau and Poroutawhao, 4 each; Levin, Otaki and Shannon, nil. B grade: Poroutawhao, 4; Levin and Ohau, 2 each; Otaki and Shannon, nil. C grade: Ohau and Poroutawhao, 4 each; Levin, Shannon and Otaki, nil. D grade: Poroutawhao, 4; Levin and Ohau, 2 each; Shannon and Otaki, nil. Totals: Poroutawhao, 16; Ohau, 12; Levin, 4; Shannon and Otaki, 0.
