Limitation Of Powers Of Dry Shareholders
NEW PLYMOUTH, June 22. ' A limitation of the powers and right;-' of 'dry shareholders in co-operative dairy companies is proposed in a re port issued by a special committee appointed by the Goverhment to inquire into the operations and control of such companies. The committee was appointed as a result of discussions at the 1947 conference of the National Dairy Federation, and its report will be considered by the annual conferenee of the federation t,o be held at Hawera on Thursday. The principal recommendation is that a company should be given power to demand the surrender of the shares held by non-suppliers. The committee suggests the setting up of a special tribunal to adjust matters arising from the putting into operation of the recommendations.
