' AUCKLAND, June 20. "They are grand people who want to fit into New Zealand life and re-estab-lish themselves. ' ' This deseription of 1000 displaced persans arriving at Wellington on Monday from their wai scarred European homelands, was given by Major-General C. E. M. Lloyd, chiei" of the mission of United Nations In* ternational Refugee Organisation to Australia and New Zealand. He arrived yesterday by air from Sydney and left to-day for Wellington for ofiieial talks on reception arrangements. "This piiot batch . to New Zealand comes from the British and American occupied zones in , Germany' and Austria and countries under Russian domination like Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Ukraine. There are some from Yugoslavia also.
