AUCKLAND, June 20. The Young Earmers' Club movement . was proving itself to be of inestimable value to its members and to the farming eommunity and therefore to the national eeonomy of the Dominion, said Mr D. G. McLachlan, Dominion president of the New Zealand Federation oi Young Farmers' Clubs, in hi& report at' the annual meeting of the movement.Over 100 delegates from clubs all over the Dominion attended the meeting. Mr McLaehlan said the movement was growing into the heart of the com- 1 rnunity and was becoming an essentiai part of rural life. Through its diversi lied aetivities it gaVe the opportunit^ for the development of the highesi ideals of country environment, greatei" snccess in farming, better amenities/ more pleasant and healthy surroundings and a fuller soeial life. During the yeai 24 new clubs had been formed although it had been necessary to elose 14 clubs. The total number of clubs was now 316 and the estimated active membership was over 90u0 with 1500 honorar. inembers. One hundred and five clubs uperated in the South Island and 211 iu the North Island.
