Famous Detective Retires From "The Yard"
LONDON, June 19. One of tbe best-known figure? at Scot , iand Yard, Ohjef Detective-Inspector Robert Fabian, gener.ally known as "Eabian of the Yard," has resigned fmm the Police Foree and is talcing up priyate employment, Mr Fabiap was head of the Yard's "murder sqpad" und played an important part in solving niany notable murder cases. His last timportant egse was the Anticiues imirder last year, when the "murder s.quad" sheeted home respon sibility for the shooting, of a motorcyclist who endeavouTed to intereept a gang engaged in robbing a jeweller''ri shop in London. Mr Fabian is reported to have left the force because of dissatisfoction with cnnditions and the prospects of promotion.
