WELLINGTON, June 17. A meeting of the New Zealand Eoad Saf ety Council 's sub-committee on motor vehicles to diseuss the safety of the new air-operated tvpe of brake and gear control in buses has been arranged for Monday, June 27, said a Transport Department official today. Interested parties such as drivers and manufacturers have been invited and a representative of the New Zealand agents for the partieular type of braking equipment under discussion would be , present. ' The school bus which ran into a bank yesterday was equipped with a different type of braking to that which is to be discussed by the sub-committee, he said. The vehicle has been withdrawn from service pending investigation by the Department, but the results of the inquiry were not yet known. The bu3 would not be put back on to the road until this matter was cleared up. ■ — . —
