New Motor Camp May Be In Use This Season

| Mr. A. W. Buxton, at Wednesday Jnight's meeting of the Otaki Borough Council, reported on certain work required to be put in hand almost immediately if the new. motor camp at Tasman Beach is to be ready for the coming . holiday season. The building of a cookhouse and the necessary conveniences required first consideration, suggested Mr. Buxton, while the topdressing of certain areas, the tarring of paths and the planting of the hillside were recommended- Other attractive ideas could then be attended to later when further funds were available. The drainage work contemplated in Moana Street should be done before the end of July if the three planting scheme, postponed last season. could be attended to before the end of the present planting' season. The town clerk. Mr. Alex. Wilson, reported that included in 'the receipts for the month was the sum of £666 2s, the nroceeds from the sale of a few of the sections adjacent to the camp. Ha added that other saies had been and were still being made. It was agreed that further filling and topdressing be done, and Mr. Buxton was asked to submit a report of his requirements, with the estimated cost, to the next meeting of the council.
