Deregistered Carpenters' New Tactics

AUCKLAND, June 15. The recomrnendation to members oi the Auckland deregistered Oarpe.nter.s ' Union to infiltrate into the new union with the view of taking control, and restoring harmony in the industry, was adopted at a meeting of the Auckland Trades' Council. This followed the de feat by 76 votes to 65, of an amend ment proposed by the national secrc tary of the Carpenters' Union, Mr R. Htanlev, that the council should find wavs and means to bring about an enrlv set.tlement. of the dispute and that it should endorse- the decision of the national conference of the federation of Labour, not to recognise the new union.
