Discussion On Prices For N.Z. Produce

Oouciirrently with negotiations whicli are now proeeeding in Lonrlon between representatives of the British Ministry of Food and the New Zealand Dairy Commission for rpvision of the prespnt dairy produce contract arrangements betVeen Britain and Xcav Zealand further negotiations Imve now been opened between the New Zealand Government and the Ministrv of Food for a revision of prices for the comirig year under the meat snpply contract between the two countries. The New Zealand delegation to the dairy produce talks is being led bv the chairman of the Dairy Oommfssion Arr W. Ararshall, and the delegation to. the meat talks bv Mr F. P. Walsh. Tn the case of dairy produce, the heaw ptemium at present being pa.id to Denmark by Brita:n is likelv to in flucnce New Zealand 's demands, while in the case of meat the recent inerpasps in prices paid to Argentina bv Britain will also be taken into consideration. At the same time that the New Zealand negotiators . are discussing prices with the Ministrv of Food, a Danish delegation is conducting similar talks in London with the British anthorities. Recent reports suggest that the Danes mav be willing to aceept a reduction in the price they are being pairl f o • their butter if Britain can guaranle" increased supplies of coal, steel, and i other materials. j
